How to Migrate Your Galleries to Glassline
One practical guide for moving from PicDrop, Pixieset, or Pic-Time
Moving a client-gallery library is mostly about preparing a trustworthy export. The process is the same whether you use PicDrop, Pixieset, or Pic-Time: download the best available files, preserve useful folder names, save client selections separately, and keep the old account active until the move has been checked.
This self-service guide brings those steps together and links directly to each provider's current support documentation. You can complete it without giving Glassline access to your source account.
If you have many galleries, a deeply nested library, or active client work, start with our concierge migration service. This is a managed, export-based service: after agreeing the scope and access method, we can perform the official source exports, rebuild supported content in Glassline, and manually reconcile the file counts before handoff.
What Glassline can move
The current migration service can recreate 3 parts of your public presence:
- Your galleries. We move JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 50 MB each. A source gallery or Collection becomes a private Glassline gallery, while first-level subfolders such as Pic-Time Scenes or Pixieset Sets can become sections. Where the source export makes them clear, we manually recreate gallery names, useful folder structure, covers, dates, descriptions, and image order. The uploaded original is retained with its embedded metadata; Glassline displays only supported camera metadata.
- Your portfolio galleries. We can manually identify which migrated galleries are featured publicly and recreate that curated selection and its order in your Glassline portfolio. Source themes and page layouts are not copied.
- Your About page. We can rebuild the fields Glassline currently supports: your name, location, biography, and profile image.
New gallery passwords, visibility, downloads, proofing, slideshows, watermarks, and replacement links are configured with you during review. Existing source passwords and client-access rules are not reused automatically.
Favorites, selections, flags, comments, and activity reports remain separate archive files such as CSVs or PDFs; they do not become live Glassline proofing history. Stores, orders, carts, automations, themes, music, videos, client sessions, business contact fields, social links, and old URLs do not migrate. Save any records you still need and finish active commercial work on the source platform.
1. Make an inventory
Before downloading anything, list the galleries you want to keep and note:
- the source gallery and section names;
- approximate image counts and storage;
- the Glassline plan and storage capacity the move will require;
- active favorites, selections, comments, or orders;
- archived galleries that may need time to restore;
- files that Glassline does not currently support.
Keep this inventory beside your downloads. It becomes the checklist you use after uploading.
2. Download galleries from your current platform
Use your provider's own export tools and choose original resolution whenever it is available. Keep every ZIP until the Glassline copy is complete and verified.
PicDrop
PicDrop can download several galleries and include their sub-galleries in one ZIP while retaining the hierarchy as folders. Its current limit is 20 galleries and 5,000 files per download, so larger libraries need multiple clearly named batches.
- Download entire galleries and gallery structures
- Create a contact sheet for selections, comments, and color flags
- PicDrop help center
Keep filename lists for important selections. A contact-sheet PDF is also useful as a readable archive, although neither becomes live Glassline proofing history automatically.
Pixieset
Download each Collection, select the Sets you need, and choose Original resolution when your plan and Collection settings allow it. Pixieset may split a large Collection across several ZIP files. Its download documentation does not guarantee that Set boundaries will always appear as folders, so verify the extracted structure and recreate Set folders locally if needed.
- Download a full Collection
- Choose download sizes and Original resolution
- Export a Folder inventory
- Review and export client Favorite Lists
A Folder inventory can contain client details, passwords, PINs, and URLs but no photos. Treat it as sensitive. Export important Favorite Lists before leaving; their filenames and notes are useful records, but they do not map exactly to Glassline's proofing model.
Pic-Time
For Pic-Time 1.0, use Download Full Gallery. The documented download places Scenes into subfolders. In Pic-Time 2.0, select media under Photos & Media, then use Share photos → Download; high-resolution downloads and CSV lists there require an eligible plan.
- Download a full Gallery on desktop
- Select and download photos in Pic-Time 2.0
- Prepare galleries held in the Photo Archive
- Export Favorites and other filename lists as CSV
- Export user activity
Older high-resolution media may be held in Pic-Time's Photo Archive. Pic-Time says preparing it can take 4–15 hours, so restore archived galleries before migration day. Save important Favorites, Client Selections, and activity reports, and finish outstanding Store orders, album work, or automations before closing the account.
3. Prepare the folders
Extract the ZIP files locally. Create one top-level folder for each gallery and, where useful, one first-level folder for each section:
Mara and Alex
├── Getting Ready
├── Ceremony
└── Reception
The top-level folder supplies the gallery name. First-level folders can become Glassline sections. Deeper folders are flattened into the nearest first-level section, so reorganize any deeper hierarchy that needs to remain meaningful. If one gallery has more than 100 first-level folders, reorganize it before uploading or ask us to plan the structure; the standard uploader otherwise imports those photos without automatically creating a section for every folder.
Do not rename photos until selection reports have been checked: filenames are usually what connects a Favorite or selection list to an image. Keep unsupported formats in a separate archive rather than assuming they were uploaded.
4. Upload privately to Glassline
Create a Glassline account, confirm that your plan has enough galleries and storage for the move, then create or open a private gallery and drag in the prepared folder. The current process does not import an entire source account or its ZIP files automatically, so extract the downloads first and work one gallery at a time.
Glassline retains the uploaded original and creates the versions needed for the gallery. Wait for processing to finish and resolve failed files before starting the next gallery.
5. Reconcile before publishing
For every gallery, manually compare the supported files in the extracted export with the completed images in Glassline. Then check:
- section names and folder mapping;
- several full-size portrait and landscape images;
- filenames, dimensions, and ordering;
- the cover, event date, and description;
- password, download, proofing, slideshow, and watermark settings;
- skipped, unsupported, or over-50-MB files.
Test the finished gallery in a private browser window. Keep both the source account and the downloaded ZIPs until the counts match, every exception is understood, and the new client links work.
Prefer a guided move?
Large archives rarely fit a generic checklist perfectly. With Glassline's concierge migration service, we review your current platform, gallery count, storage, and active client work before quoting the move. After you accept, we agree how the source files will be supplied. You can provide the exports yourself, or we can perform them using temporary source-account access.
Where your provider offers a separate team-member login, that is preferred. Otherwise, we may ask you to create a unique temporary source password through a dedicated access handoff. Credentials and MFA codes are never requested through the public quote form, support tickets, or ordinary email. MFA can be completed in an attended session, and you revoke the access or change the temporary password when the migration is handed back.
We then rebuild supported galleries privately, manually recreate recoverable gallery and portfolio details, and provide a file-count report for your approval. This is an export-based concierge process rather than a direct account-to-account importer, and nothing is published or sent to clients without your review.
